Senior Solutions Engineer – Microsoft 365 / Intune
Location: Oxford OX1 – 3 days per week in the office
Salary: £75,000 + bonus

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Solutions Senior Engineer to join the Internal Technology team of a rapidly growing, international research and data-driven organisation based in Oxford.
This is a senior technical role with a particular focus on Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Management, alongside the wider Microsoft 365 ecosystem. You’ll take ownership of complex technical projects, improve the organisation’s technology environment and help shape how technology is delivered across the business.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft 365, Intune and Entra ID, with the confidence to work independently, engage with senior stakeholders and take projects from initial requirements through to successful delivery.
Experience within a research, academic, consultancy, financial, data-driven or similarly complex organisation would be particularly relevant, although candidates from other fast-paced (ideally scaling) organisations with the right technical experience will also be considered.
What You'll Be Doing
- Take technical ownership of Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Management, including the management and lifecycle of corporate devices.
- Design, implement and continually improve solutions across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Intune, Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and Windows.
- Lead complex technical projects from requirements gathering and solution design through to implementation and ongoing improvement.
- Work closely with business stakeholders and internal technology teams to understand requirements and deliver effective, scalable solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve security, efficiency and the overall employee technology experience.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and act as a senior escalation point where required.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, knowledge articles and technical documentation.
- Use PowerShell and Microsoft Graph to automate processes, improve reporting and increase operational efficiency.
- Contribute to technical governance and ensure solutions follow best practice.
- Share your knowledge and experience with colleagues, helping to raise the overall technical capability of the team.
- Work within an Agile/Sprint environment, managing your own backlog and delivering projects with minimal supervision.
What We're Looking For
You'll need to be a hands-on Senior Engineer who can combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Essential:
- Strong commercial experience working across Microsoft 365 and Microsoft technologies.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune / Microsoft Endpoint Manager – this is a key focus of the role.
- Strong experience with Entra ID / Azure AD, including identity and endpoint management.
- Experience across technologies such as Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and Windows.
- Proven ability to lead and deliver complex technical projects independently.
- Experience managing the full lifecycle of endpoints and devices within an enterprise environment.
- Good working knowledge of PowerShell and Microsoft Graph.
- Experience producing high-quality technical documentation, SOPs and knowledge articles.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive, problem-solving approach with the ability to identify improvements rather than simply react to issues.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent undergraduate degree is essential.
Desirable
It would be advantageous if you also have experience with:
- Microsoft Defender, Purview, Power Platform, Copilot Studio or Cloud App Security.
- Azure and hybrid infrastructure.
- Networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN and Wi-Fi.
- Azure DevOps, Git, Terraform or other DevOps/configuration management tooling.
- Microsoft certifications.
- Working within a research, academic, consultancy, financial, data-driven or rapidly scaling organisation.
- Enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, SAP SuccessFactors, Dynamics 365 or Jira/Confluence.
