My client is an incredibly exciting organisation at the heart of ground-breaking technology engineering solutions for science and exploration, space, earth observation and launchers.
They are looking for an experienced Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis, to be involved in development and validation tasks related to GNSS receivers.
We are looking for an Engineer with experience of working with embedded systems and real-time software with embedded C programming skills. You will be joining a GNSS Business Unit within the space industry, that is working to develop GNSS positioning algorithms to enable high precision positioning.
Main Duties for the Embedded Systems Engineer:
- Development of real-time SW application for embedded system (GNSS Receiver)
- Verification and validation procedures for a GNSS receiver;
- Contributing to the analysis, generation and management of requirements for GNSS projects;
- Contribute to design, prototyping and implementation of GNSS receiver algorithms on FPGA platforms;
- Work with laboratory instrumentation and RF Constellation Signal simulators;
- Preparation of relevant documentation;
- Willing to travel to partners’ and clients’ facilities for project milestones and validation campaigns.
Requirements for the Embedded Systems Engineer:
- Working experience with embedded system and real-time SW
- Excellent embedded C programmer
- Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and/or Linux for embedded system
- Strong fundamentals in Operating Systems, multithreading programming, Data Structures, and System Design.
- System testing and verification;
- Experience working with testing infrastructures in a Continuous Integration environment (git workflow, code quality, automatic testing and delivery)
- Demonstrated experience in writing of formal technical documentation;
In addition, any experience with FPGA platforms, the fundamentals of satellite navigation, knowledge of scientific tools as Matlab and Python, for analysis, simulation and performance assessment of GNSS receivers, knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash) for test automatization and experience in a user/customer facing environment would be a bonus!
The role is based near Didcot, Oxford, and it’s anticipated that the role will be office based for 3 days per week and from home 2 days per week, with some flexibility for the right candidate.
