Data Analyst – Securitisation Technology

The Opportunity
We are working with a Tier 1 UK bank that is investing heavily in its technology and data capabilities. They are looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join a cutting-edge team working within Securitisation Technology.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong technical data analysis skills with a solid understanding of securitisation and/or structured finance.
You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality business and technology solutions, working with complex financial data to identify trends, investigate issues and improve data quality.
The Role
As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for extracting, manipulating, processing and analysing complex datasets, developing queries and identifying data inconsistencies, missing data and opportunities for improvement.
Working closely with teams across Securitisation, Treasury, Risk, Finance, Operations and Technology, you will help translate business challenges into data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse complex securitisation and financial data using SQL and Excel to identify trends, investigate issues and generate actionable insights.
- Extract, manipulate, reconcile and analyse large and complex datasets.
- Perform data profiling, mapping, lineage and quality analysis to improve data accuracy and governance.
- Develop and maintain standard queries to identify data inconsistencies and missing information.
- Gather, document and validate business and data requirements to support technology change and regulatory initiatives.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts and Engineering teams throughout design, testing and implementation.
- Translate business requirements into effective data and technology solutions.
- Produce reporting, MI and analytical outputs to support business and operational decision-making.
- Investigate data issues, identify root causes and recommend process improvements.
- Work collaboratively with business and technology stakeholders across the organisation.
- Support and mentor junior analysts, sharing best practice and helping to develop the wider data capability.
About You
We are looking for a Data Analyst with a strong background in financial services, ideally with experience within securitisation, structured finance or a closely related area.
You will have:
- Proven experience working as a Data Analyst or hybrid Data/Business Analyst within financial services.
- Strong knowledge of securitisation and/or structured finance, including an understanding of relevant asset classes, transaction lifecycles and associated data flows.
- Advanced SQL and Excel skills, with the ability to analyse, reconcile and interpret large datasets.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with data quality, profiling, reconciliation and root cause analysis.
- Experience translating business requirements into data requirements and technology solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.
- Experience coaching or mentoring colleagues would be advantageous.
